Anomalous isotope effects of fulleride superconductors

چکیده

The numerical calculations of the standard Eliashberg-Nambu strong coupling theory and a formula of isotope effect derived in this paper provide direct evidences that an-harmonic vibrations of lattice enhance isotope effect with anomalous coefficient α > 1/2. The results in this paper explain very well the wide distributed α values for the samples with different ratios of substitutions of 12C by 13C of fulleride superconductor Rb3C60. The calculations of isotope effects indicate that the intra-molecule radial modes have more important contributions to superconductivity than the intra-molecule tangential modes with higher phonon frequencies PACS: 74.20.Fg, 74.70.Wz, 71.20.Tx, 81.05.Tp

Upper critical field reaches 90 tesla near the Mott transition in fulleride superconductors

Controlled access to the border of the Mott insulating state by variation of control parameters offers exotic electronic states such as anomalous and possibly high-transition-temperature (Tc) superconductivity. The alkali-doped fullerides show a transition from a Mott insulator to a superconductor for the first time in three-dimensional materials, but the impact of dimensionality and electron c...

Metallicity in fullerides.

Metallic salts formed from fullerenes became popular because of their superconducting properties with a relatively high transition temperature, and were initially regarded as conventional metals and superconductors. Recently, owing to improved synthetic methods and a renewed interest in the study of their physical properties, many of them were found to exhibit exotic metallic and superconductin...

Inverse iron isotope effect on the transition temperature of the (Ba,K)Fe2As2 superconductor.

We report that the (Ba,K)Fe(2)As(2) superconductor (transition temperature, T(c) approximately 38 K) has an inverse iron isotope coefficient alpha(Fe) = -0.18(3) (where T(c) approximately M(-alphaFe) and M is the iron isotope mass); i.e., the sample containing the large iron isotope mass depicts a higher T(c). Systematic inverse shifts in T(c) were clearly observed between the samples using thr...

توضیحاتی درباره نظریه‌های ابررسانایی دمای بالا

The recently discovered MgB2 superconductors have a record transition temperature for a BCS superconductor due to the high vibration frequencies associated with its light elements. The transition temperatures in the cuprate family of superconductors are much higher but these do not fit the BCS paradigm. The most promising microscopic origin for their many anomalous properties lies in magnetic...

Intrinsic and structural isotope effects in iron-based superconductors

The currently available results of the isotope effect on the superconducting transition temperature Tc in Fe-based high-temperature superconductors (HTSs) are highly controversial. The values of the Fe isotope effect exponent Fe for various families of Fe-based HTS were found to be as well positive, as negative, or even be exceedingly larger than the BCS value BCS0.5. Here we emphasize that ...
